Mikra Thira is the first winery founded on Therassia, a quiet island in the Cyclades that was separated from nearby Santorini by the great volcanic eruption of the 17th century BC. Surrounded by raw volcanic beauty and minimal human intervention, the estate cultivates ungrafted, low-yielding vines on both Therassia and Santorini. With organic practices and a deep respect for the land, Mikra Thira produces wines of exceptional purity and precision, all under the PDO Santorini designation

The vineyards lie across selected sites on both Therassia and Santorini. Planted with ungrafted vines—many over 80 years old—and trained in the traditional kouloura method, where vines are woven into basket-shaped crowns close to the ground, they are low-yielding and cultivated with great care to reflect the purity of the volcanic terroir.

The Mediterranean climate, moderated by sea breezes and cool mountain air, allows for slow grape ripening—enhancing acidity, structure, and elegance in the wines.
